Motorists face miles of traffic delays after two-vehicle crash in M66

Motorists on the M66 faced miles of traffic delays this morning, Thursday, after a crash. Greater Manchester Police were called at around 6.50am after a two-vehicle crash on the motorway southbound between junction one for the Summerseat Interchange and two for the Heap Bridge Interchange.

One lane was closed and there were delays of around seven miles. No injuries were reported. 1 (of 2) lanes are closed on the #M66 southbound between J1 #Ramsbottom and J2 #Bury due to a collision There is about 5 miles of congestion which is adding about 45 minutes to normal journey times pic.
