Pune: The Shirgaon police have filed a case against a motorcyclist, a resident of Pavananagar, for causing an accident on the Pune-Mumbai expressway at Urse village around 6pm on Saturday. The motorcyclist, who sustained minor injuries, collided with a car on the expressway. Both vehicles were damaged in the accident, and the car driver filed a complaint against the motorcyclist.
"Despite a ban on two and three-wheelers on the expressway, the motorcyclist entered the highway from the Somatane side and was driving in the Mumbai-bound lane," investigating officer Hanumant Mane said. "According to the complainant, when he was heading towards Mumbai, he noticed a motorcycle driving in the third lane of the expressway. The motorcyclist suddenly changed lanes and came in front of the complainant's car, which was in the first lane.
Before the driver could apply the brakes, his car hit the motorcycle from behind. The motorcyclist fell off and sustained bruises on his hands and legs," Mane added. The motorcyclist has been booked under sections 281 (rash driving), 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and 184 (driving dangerously) of the Motor Vehicle Act.
