
PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) has issued an urgent public warning regarding fraudulent websites that impersonate its official platform.The ministry in a statement said these deceptive sites falsely claim to provide information on licensed tourism companies and include links such as:https://www.motacgov.

Motac stressed that these websites are misleading and could potentially lead to fraudulent activities.“Motac takes this matter seriously, as these websites are misleading and could potentially result in fraud.“They may be used by unscrupulous parties to deceive users with invalid information or offer services not recognised by Motac,” it said.
In response to this growing concern, the ministry asserted that all official information regarding licensed tourism companies and tour guides is available exclusively through its official website at https://www.motac.gov.
my/.As such, the ministry urged the public to verify the authenticity of any website before engaging in transactions to avoid falling victim to such fraudulent schemes.“To combat this issue, MOTAC is actively collaborating with relevant authorities to block and shut down the fraudulent websites,” it added.
The ministry encourages members of the public who have information about suspicious websites or who have been affected by fraudulent activities to report to MOTAC through the following channels:Public Complaint Management System (SISPAA) at https://motac.spab.gov.
