Its Daily convenience shop in The Parade in Waterloo Estate, Poole will shut its doors on Wednesday, April 16. Rami Baitieh, Morrisons’ chief executive, said the changes were a “necessary part of our plans to renew and reinvigorate” the chain and invest in areas that “customers really value”. Morrisons has said it will close 52 in-store cafes some convenience stores, florists, meat and fish counters, and pharmacies nationally.
And as part of the business’ shake-up, 365 people are facing redundancy. Mr Baitieh added: “We do not take lightly the disruption and uncertainty they will cause to some of our colleagues. “We will of course take particular care to look after all of them well through the coming changes.
” Morrisons only took over McColl’s - the business which it had previously operated as – in May 2022. Although Morrisons doesn’t have any supermarkets in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, it has convenience stores in Bournemouth Road, Adastral Road and Ringwood Road. Its supermarkets are in Verwood, Blandford and Weymouth.
