The senior also was a part of Firelands’ winning 4×400 team. Off the track: Bokulich wants to run track in college but is undecided on a school.
Nicknamed “Bok,” the senior enjoys making art and is a second-degree black belt. Naomi Bottomlee North Ridgeville>>Softball Senior>>P/CF On the diamond: Bottomlee batted .556 with one home run and five runs scored.
The senior also notched three wins in the circle with 20 combined strikeouts. Off the diamond: Bottomlee will play softball at Youngstown State University. The senior’s favorite sports memory is winning the outright Southwestern Conference title last season.
Her hobbies include shopping, painting and working out. Grace DeWitt Rocky River>>Girls lacrosse Senior>>Midfielder On the field: In three games, DeWitt put up 13 goals and three assists to go with 17 draw control wins, nine ground balls and eight caused turnovers. The senior captain now owns school records in the latter three categories.
Off the field: DeWitt will play college lacrosse at St. Leo University. Nicknamed “DW” and “Dubs”, DeWitt’s favorite sports memory is bonding with her lacrosse teammates.
The senior’s favorite food is tacos and favorite subject is biology. Xander Jhaveri Westlake>>Boys tennis Senior>>No. 1 singles On the court: Jhaveri won the St.
Edward Invitational with a 4-0 record at No. 1 singles. Three of the four wins came against district or state qualifiers.
Off the court: Jhaveri will play college tennis at Case Western Reserve University and study computer science. The senior’s favorite high school memory is placing third in state doubles with his former high school and future college teammate, Rohit Jain. In his free time, Jhaveri plays logic games and makes his own video games.
Johnnie Kinter Wellington>>Baseball Senior>>P/INF On the diamond: In two games on the mound, Kinter tossed 35 strikeouts with 19 coming in his no-hitter against Vermilion. Off the diamond: Kinter will continue his baseball career at Lake Erie College. His favorite sports memory is his no-hitter last week.
His favorite team is the Guardians, favorite subject is math and favorite food is Chipotle burritos. Severin Kretchmar Vermilion>>Boys tennis Senior>>No. 1 singles On the court: Kretchmar won his match against Willard last week to tie the school wins record with 70.
He later set the record and is now the Sailors’ all-time winningest player. Off the court: Kretchmar will play tennis next year at Ohio Wesleyan University and major in political science. His nickname is “Sevie” and outside of tennis, he enjoys gaming, playing golf and hanging out with friends and family.
James Ludwig Amherst>>Boys volleyball Junior>>OH/DS On the court: Ludwig put up nine kills and 17 digs along with 23 serve receptions last week against Perrysburg. Off the court: Ludwig’s favorite sports memories are the program’s first-ever wins when he was a freshman. The junior’s favorite team is the Cavaliers and favorite hobbies are hanging out with friends and playing beach volleyball.
Audrey Smith Firelands>>Girls track and field Junior>>Sprints On the track: Smith anchored the Falcons’ 4×200 and 4×400 teams to victory at last weekend’s Nelson Howe Invitational. The junior also won the 100 and 800 at a conference meet earlier in the week. Off the track: Smith’s favorite sports memory is going to Buffalo Wild Wings with the track and field team before regionals.
The junior’s favorite hobbies outside of track include watching basketball and hiking..
