More snowfall hits Suffolk as cold snap continues

More snow has fallen across Suffolk as the cold weather continues. People living all over the county have spotted wintry scenes on Friday morning, with some snow settling on country roads and fields. A yellow weather warning for snow and ice is in place for parts of the county until 10am on Friday.

A spokesman for the Met Office said: "Plan to leave the house at least five minutes earlier than normal. "Not needing to rush reduces your risk of accidents, slips, and falls.



" It comes after snow fell in parts of the county on Wednesday . Snow has also settled on some pathways in the county (Image: Newsquest) Those living in north Suffolk including Oulton Broad, near Lowestoft, saw snow settling. Last week the Met Office said the county could be hit by wintry hazards this week .

Looking ahead to the weekend, temperatures are expected to creep into double figures but gale force winds are also expected to batter the county. The Met Office has said winds could reach up to 60mph in some parts along the Suffolk coast. The gale force 10 winds could cause severe disruption on roads and rail networks, the forecaster has warned.
