While Bayern Munich ’s first team has well and truly returned to action, the club’s youth teams have yet to return from an extended winter break and will only contest competitive matches in February. Even though the workload should theoretically be minimal, however, injuries are never far at Bayern. Three promising talents found this out the hard way, via FCBayern.

com : The FC Bayern amateurs will have to do without Max Scholze for the next few months. The full-back suffered a broken collarbone in the second half of the friendly against Sønderjyske and was substituted early. Scholze left the training camp on Wednesday and underwent a successful operation on Thursday morning.

The 19-year-old has so far played in 31 regional league matches for the amateurs and was loaned to third division club SC Verl in the first half of the season. There is also bitter news for the U19s: Midfielder Bogdan Olychenko suffered an inner knee ligament injury during training and will be out for a long time. In addition, U19 head coach Peter Gaydarov will have to do without Noah Codjo-Evora for the time being.

The attacker suffered an outer knee ligament injury and will likely miss several weeks. These injuries are all especially bitter in their own right. As mentioned in the article, right back Scholze just returned from loan in the 3.

Liga, where he did not play a lot of minutes. The plan was for him to regain his momentum by playing a lot for Bayern II in the Regionalliga. He gets substituted in to play his first friendly, breaks his collarbone within a few minutes and subsequently misses multiple months of action.

What a shame. Bogdan Olychenko, for his part, was riding a wave of momentum, having gone from an afterthought in the U-19s to winning a more regular spot with the team, making brilliant strides and even earning a new contract for those strides just a few days ago. Now the Ukrainian will miss the entire Rückrunde .

Codjo-Evora, meanwhile, was a fairly high profile investment in the summer who has not quite found his feet at the club. This injury will hardly help the French striker in that regard.
