Syrian teenager Ahmad Mamdouh Al Ibrahim died in hospital after he was stabbed on Thursday

A teenager who died after being stabbed in his neck in Huddersfield town centre had only moved to the town very recently. Ahmad Mamdouh Al Ibrahim, 16, a Syrian national, died in hospital following an alleged 'verbal altercation' in Huddersfield town centre on Thursday afternoon . He had been stabbed in the neck at about 2.

45pm in Ramsden Street. Huddersfield man, Alfie Franco, 20, of The Park, Kirkburton, appeared before Leeds Magistrates Court on Saturday morning. He is charged with murder and possessing a knife in a public place.



He was remanded in custody and will appear before Leeds Crown Court on April 8. Today West Yorkshire Police said Ahmad had only 'very recently' moved to Huddersfield from the South Wales area. A spokesman said: "Officers from the Homicide And Major Enquiry Team are working to support the victim’s family and are continuing to investigate the fatal stabbing on Ramsden Street, Huddersfield on 3 April.

" Well-wishers have posted their condolences following the boy's death. Victoria said: "My heart goes out to the family and friends of this poor young boy and to all who had to witness this horror." June posted: "So heartbreaking, sincere condolences to his family.
