Moped and bikes stolen in Cheltenham after group seen acting suspiciously

Three boys have been arrested after a series of moped and bike thefts across . Officers from were called at around 3am this morning (Friday, October 18) to reports that a group were acting suspiciously in the St Marks area of the town. The group were reportedly pushing a moped down the road.

Another call came in at around 4.50am reporting that a similar group had attempted to steal a bicycle from the High Street. Officers searched the area and stopped three boys that matched descriptions given by witnesses.



They were arrested after being found in possession of bicycles which were believed to have been stolen. Police said: "Two 12-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of theft of mopeds, attempted theft of bicycles and criminal damage. The boys remain in police custody at this time while enquiries continue.

" The owner of the suspected stolen moped has since been identified. However, police are appealing for help to find the rightful owners of the stolen bikes. Gloucestershire Police said: "Officers have identified the owner of the seized moped and are now working to identify the rightful owners of the bicycles seized during the arrests.

Anyone who recognises either bicycle pictured below is asked to complete the quoting incident 51 of 18 October.".
