Monument Town Council Member Jim Romanello has died

Jim Romanello, who has served on Monument's Town Council for more than six years, has died, town officials announced Sunday. It wasn't immediately clear how he died. "Jim was a valued colleague, a dedicated public servant, and a committed member of our community who brought passion and thoughtfulness to his role on the Town Council," officials said in a statement.

Romanello worked as a financial adviser and was a small business owner. During the pandemic, he served as the town's liaison to the county government to help bring economic assistance to Monument's small businesses. He was first elected to council in November 2018.
