CHINO VALLEY, Ariz. — A months-old puppy was attacked by a mountain lion in Arizona. The owners of Hunter, a seven-month-old puppy, said he was outside in their backyard in Chino Valley on Friday.

One of his owners was even outside with Hunter, taking a photo of the sunset. The mountain lion attacked the dog and his owners said he has significant damage to his head, the left side of his face and his left eye. He has multiple fractures to his skull, face and jaw.

On a GoFundMe page, Hunter's owners said the mountain lion bit down on the puppy's head, popping his eye out of the socket and puncturing the puppy's sinus. The GoFundMe is live to help pay for the costs of Hunter's medical care. To learn more, head to the GoFundMe website.
