Montgomery County community asked to 'Choose What Matters to You'

The community is invited to an interactive workshop on WednesdayNov. 20 to “Choose What Matters to You,” as part of the Montgomery County Comprehensive Plan update.

During the workshop, participating citizens can visit stations and collaborate with each other, the Montgomery Matters project team, and other community leaders, with the goal of providing feedback on the overall plan, according to a county news release. Working with stakeholders and community members, the county is updating Montgomery Matters, which will outline the county’s future goals on a number of topics, including housing, recreation, future business growth, a variety of County services, and much more. The state-mandated Comprehensive Plan for localities serves as their main blueprint for land use.

“Choose What Matters to You” is the next step of multiple community engagement events that will continue through 2025 to include community meetings, surveys, stakeholder discussions and interviews in an effort to gain valued feedback from citizens, according to the release. The workshop on Wednesday Nov. 20 is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.



m., and those interested can show up at any point during that time. The location is the Montgomery County Government Center at 755 Roanoke Street in Christiansburg.

Citizens are also welcome to visit the Government Center between 4 and 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday Nov.
