Montana Football Hall of Fame releases details on Speak UP – Let’s Talk Symposium

BILLINGS — The Montana Football Hall of Fame released details on Tuesday about its Speak Up – Let’s Talk Symposium to be held in conjunction with its hall of fame weekend during the last full week of June. The symposium, with a motto of “you don’t have to just live with it," will be held on June 28 beginning at 10 a.m.

at the Billings Hotel and Convention Center. Professional volleyball player Capri Richardson and former Atlanta Falcon and University of Montana football player Kroy Biermann, who is being inducted into the , will be the speakers. Former Griz and NFL player Jordan Tripp of Hardin will also be conducting a video presentation.



Missoula physical therapist Kira Kamrud and Billings athletic trainer Izzi McKinney are also speakers. Scott Richter, formerly an athletic trainer with the Montana Grizzlies, will serve as the panel moderator. There will be an open forum for questions with the panelists.

There will also be a tribute for the . Presentation topics include managing and coping with mental health struggles, recovery methods, concussion related information, and starting the conversation to win the mental health battle. Continuing education credits are available for athletic trainers, physical therapists and educators.

The cost is $50 for those seeking the continuing education credits and $15 for students and guests and includes lunch. For information, visit or call 406-208-8142. The MFHF also will be hosting a golf outing on June 27 at Pryor Creek Golf Club on the Elmer Link Course.

Those interested in playing can register as a four-person team or allow organizers to place individuals on a team with them. The cost is $125 per player and check-in is at 8 a.m.

This year’s HOF banquet is Saturday, June 28, at 5 p.m. at the Billings Hotel and Convention Center.

Those selected for induction into the Players category are ex-Griz Kroy Biermann, Lex Hilliard and Terry Falcon, former Montana State Bobcat Joey Thomas and former Wyoming Cowboy Pat Ogrin. In the Legacy category for deceased players, Bob Schmitz, who played at Montana State, will also be inducted. Two people are also being inducted into the Support category in former Montana State lineman Ray Biggs and Carroll College alum Tom McMahon.

Also set to be honored is Bill Sprinkle of Helena with a special award for his work with the National Football Foundation Montana chapter in awarding scholarships to players at Montana colleges and high schools.
