
Nashville continues to be a popular destination for visits from globally acclaimed food and beverage professionals, and we get to experience their talents without having to book plane tickets. All you have to do is buy a ticket to any of these upcoming pop-ups and experience some world-class food and drink! First up is a visit by the team behind legendary NYC cocktail bar Death & Co. ahead of the opening of their upcoming Nashville outpost, Close Company .
Their new bar is within months of swinging open the saloon doors in Germantown as part of the expanding Neuhoff District. But before that, they’re offering a preview of what’s coming at a special pop-up at Fancypants on Wednesday, March 26, from 5 until 9 p.m.
The bar teams of Fancypants and Close Company will come together to offer special cocktails, small bites and some of the upcoming merch that will demonstrate the irreverent atmosphere that you can expect once Close Company opens up. It’s a drop-in event, so no reservations are necessary. Another acclaimed bar team will be in town on Sunday, April 6, as Golden Sound plays host to Kate Gerwin of Happy Accidents , the Albuquerque establishment that was named the Best New U.

m. until close, the Happy Accidents team will bring their menu to the Gulch as part of a bar takeover. It’s another walk-in event, so walk on down to 610 Magazine St.
and bask in the glory of one of the nation’s best bartenders of the moment! Chef Ben Shewry is probably best known as one of the featured chefs from the first season of Netflix’s A Chef’s Life . His Melbourne restaurant Attica is acclaimed as one of the greatest restaurants in Australia, and indeed the world. The cuisine is centered on Indigenous ingredients and cooking techniques of Australia and Shewry’s native New Zealand, and the chef describes his fanatical dedication to his convictions in his book, Uses for Obsession: A Chef’s Memoir .
Shewry has a lot of friends in Nashville, so he’s coming to town for a couple of events at the end of this month, starting with a staff lunch-style luncheon at Rolf & Daughters on Saturday, March 29, at 12:30 p.m. Shewry will be joined in conversation by his friend Ira Kaplan, the co-founder of Yo La Tengo.
The duo will discuss creative inspirations and obsessions as attendees dine on a simple meal of lasagna bolognese, green salad and garlic bread. Attica chef Ben Shewry Your $45 ticket includes lunch and a copy of Shewry’s book, and the chef will stick around after lunch to sign copies. Local wine importer and expert Jane Lopes worked for Shewry at Attica, and she marks him as an important influence on her career.
She’ll be interviewing him at Bastion on Sunday, March 30, starting at 3 p.m. The $25 ticket to the second event includes a copy of the book and some great wine from Lopes’ Legends portfolio.
Aussie cocktail specials and Attica nachos will be available for purchase during the event. One of the most welcome signs of the advent of spring is when City House takes it outside for a series of convivial Yard Parties at their Germantown location at 1222 Fourth Ave. N.
The first “Fam Jam” of 2025 will take place on Sunday, March 30, from 1 until 3 p.m. as City House chef Tandy Wilson and Teresa Mason of Mas Tacos come together for some whole-hog-and-tacos goodness.
In addition to the food, Rate Wonder will be working the wheels of steel to set the vibe, so bring a lawn chair or a blanket for al fresco lounging. Tickets are $40 , and beer, wine and aguas frescas will be available for purchase at the party. Other upcoming City House soirees will feature pitmaster Pat Martin on May 4 and a Wine and Art Yard Party with Woodland Wine Merchants on June 22 as part of an arts and crafts fair.
