Times News Network Ludhiana: A day after police booked three unidentified persons for allegedly molesting a nursing student at a charitable medical college/hospital in Sarabha village, police formed teams to crack the case. On Thursday, Ludhiana rural police filed a case against three unidentified persons for assault or criminal force against a woman with the intent to outrage her modesty after a final year nursing student alleged that three miscreants tried to rape her and tore her clothes. DSP Dakha Varinder Singh Khosa said that they had constituted three teams to gather technical evidence and investigate the case. He added that the scene of the alleged crime was a “blind spot” where people could not be seen easily.
Police said that they would give more details in a day or two. They added that there were several security personnel on the campus, which also had many CCTV cameras. So far, police said that they had spoken to more than 20 persons, including girl students who were around at the time of the incident.
They also said that guards deployed on campus had denied seeing the accused. Meanwhile, a student asking not to be named, said that students organised a protest on Thursday after police filed a case into the matter. However, he added that the college was functioning as usual.
