Las Palmas midfielder Alberto Moleiro has admitted he’s still dreaming of Barcelona and hasn’t given up hope of securing a big move in the future. Moleiro has been heavily linked with the Catalans over the last few years but a transfer has failed to materialise and the rumors have gone a little quiet. However, the 21-year-old midfielder is still thinking about Barca but says now is not the right time to switch clubs.
“Right now I’m very happy and I’m not thinking about going out or anything like that. But hopefully in the future I will be in a big team like Barça or any other,” he told Más Que Pelotas. “I think it’s the dream of any footballer, but now it’s not time for this and when it’s time we’ll have to be ready.
” Moleiro would follow in Pedri’s footsteps if he did move to Barcelona and admits he’s thrilled to be seeing the former Las Palmas midfielder star for Hansi Flick’s side. “I’m very happy for him. The truth is that it is a joy that he is playing at this level after the injuries he has gone through,” he added.
“I’m sure he’s had a hard time, but football is the now, it’s present. The other day I was lucky enough to see him here, to talk to him and he looks very good. I’m very happy for him and I’m very happy that Canarians like him or Pino are in the senior team”.
“Barça are in very good shape and are beating almost all the teams. When we play against them, I imagine that it will be a game that we will have to be very together, very serious and that they do not have the day. We have our weapons to stop it, but we will see.
” Barca did look likely to sign Moleiro at one point but it’s not clear if the club still retain an interest in the midfielder..
