Qatar tribune QNA Doha The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), in collaboration with the Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), recently held the first meeting of the ‘Tansheeh’ programme for the 2024-2025 academic year. The event was attended by more than 300 participants, including school principals, social and psychological specialists, and programme partners, with the goal of introducing the ‘Tansheeh’ programme, which is designed to support the well-being of adolescents. The programme aims to enhance protective factors and address risk factors that influence students’ behaviour, habits and intellectual orientations.

The initiative will begin with a pre-survey at the start of the academic year, followed by preventive and developmental programmes. A post-survey will be conducted at the end of the year to assess the effectiveness of the interventions. In her opening remarks, Fatima Youssef Al Obaidli, assistant director of the Department of Schools and Students Affairs at the MoEHE, highlighted the significance of this programme, developed through joint efforts between the MoEHE and the DIFI, as part of a broader national framework aimed at promoting ethical values among students.

Dr Sharifa Noman Al Emadi, executive director of the DIFI, provided an overview of the programme, emphasising the importance of family in shaping children’s behaviour through communication and positive role models. Dr Khalid Jamal Al Na’ama, director of the Family Research and Policy Department at DIFI, further underscored the family’s role in influencing children’s intellectual and behavioral development. Ibtisam Ayoub, Family Research and Policy Officer at the DIFI, presented the implementation plan for the ‘Tansheeh’ programme for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The programme will also include workshops to raise awareness among parents about its objectives, and a post-survey to evaluate its impact on students’ well-being and behaviour. Copy 09/09/2024 10.
