Mobile JPJ counters to assist Putra Heights vehicle owners impacted by pipeline fire

SEPANG: The Ministry of Transportation (MOT) will station Mobile JPJ in Putra Heights tomorrow and Friday to support victims impacted by the pipeline fire.

SEPANG: The Ministry of Transportation (MOT) will station Mobile JPJ in Putra Heights tomorrow and Friday to support victims impacted by the pipeline fire.Transport Minister Anthony Loke stated that the initiative will assist vehicle owners in reprinting essential documents, including vehicle certificates, licences, driving licences, and road tax, if needed."For two consecutive days, we will station our mobile counters in the area and at the mosque to assist vehicle owners in reprinting their documents, particularly their vehicle certificates.

This is the facilitation we will be giving to the affected victims."We are trying to arrange representatives from the General Insurance Association of Malaysia (PIAM) to advise the victims," Loke told the media at a press conference here after witnessing the arrival of British Airways at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).A gas pipeline in Putra Heights exploded on Tuesday, with videos and images of the fire quickly spreading on social media.



The massive fire near a gas station burned for several hours and was visible from miles away.The National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) reported that 538 individuals were displaced following the explosion.Meanwhile, 145 people were hospitalised, all of whom are in stable condition.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad stated that most victims suffered second- and third-degree burns. However, none are currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).© New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd.
