MNNIT, IIT Bhilai to promote startups based on new tech

Prayagraj: An agreement was signed on Saturday between Prayagraj Innovation and Incubation Hub of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology ( MNNIT ) Foundation and IIT Bhilai Innovation and Technology Foundation to promote the startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem and to support startups based on new technologies and innovations. Under this MoU, both institutes will jointly conduct several activities to encourage entrepreneurship. Research and incubation for technical startups, exchange of ideas and innovations, and joint workshops, conferences, and seminars for startups will be organised.

They will also provide important facilities like infrastructure and mentorship to the startups of each other's incubation centres. The agreement was signed by director professor RP Tiwari on behalf of IIHMF and chief executive officer Prashant Mathur on behalf of IBITF. On this occasion, professor Tiwari said that this agreement is to give new dimensions to innovation and entrepreneurship.



Prashant Mathur called it an important initiative for future technological innovations. Meanwhile, former director of MNNIT, prof Rajiv Tripathi, has been appointed as the vice chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi Technology University Bhopal. On Friday, the order of his appointment was issued by MP governor and chancellor Mangubhai Patel.

He will take charge soon and will hold the post of Vice Chancellor for four years. Prof Tripathi, a resident of village Tilhapur in Kaushambi district, did B.Tech in Electronics and Telecom Engineering from Allahabad University in 1986.

After that, he did M.Tech in Communication and System in 1992 and PhD in 1998. He is posted in the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of MNNIT.

During his 34-year tenure in MNNIT, he has held many positions including dean of academic affairs, head, and professor in-charge of training placement. He was the director of MNNIT from October 7, 2016, to 2021. He has conducted more than 20 PhDs and more than 90 of his research papers have been published in international journals.
