At the General Managers meetings, there’s a feeling that the Boston Red Sox can get anyone they want through trade, per Alex Speier . The Red Sox are stacked with talent in their farm, and have some high-end talent in the big leagues as well. “While most trade speculation about the Red Sox revolves around their Big Four, they could also trade from the big league squad.

” While the Sox’s number one prospect and overall number one in baseball Roman Anthony is off the table, the other three aren’t. Kyle Teel’s name has been mentioned, but that would be a poor idea, as he is a potential franchise catcher. At the big league level, players like Jarren Duran and Wilyer Abreu are huge trade targets, but they would need a lot in return for them.

Speier noted that pitchers the Red Sox could acquire through trade were Garrett Crochet, Sonny Gray, and someone off the Rays’ rotation, preferably someone like Shane McClanahan. The Sox could also use free agency, and target someone like Corbin Burnes, Max Fried, or if he gets posted, Roki Sasaki. With the offseason still in its infancy, there is a lot of time to conjure up trades or throw money at stars.

Hopefully, the Red Sox do both and bring October baseball back to Fenway.
