Mizzou's upcoming bout with Oklahoma just got tougher. After a Friday afternoon report from PowerMizzou said that Missouri starting quarterback Brady Cook would miss the Tigers' matchup against the Sooners, the Southeastern Conference-mandated injury report confirmed that Cook will be out against Oklahoma. The injury report, which was released Friday evening, also listed running back Nate Noel as well as offensive linemen Cayden Green and Logan Reichert as probable.

Noel has missed two of the Tigers' past three games and was limited in against Auburn, his lone appearance during that span. Wide receiver Mookie Cooper was also ruled out for Missouri. The expected fill-in for Cook is backup Drew Pyne, who has appeared in each of the Tigers' past two games.

In Missouri's 21-17 win over Auburn on Oct. 19, Pyne entered on the first drive of the game when Cook left with an ankle injury, completing 10 of 21 passes for 78 yards before Cook returned. The following week against Alabama — a 34-0 loss for the Tigers on Oct.

26 — the veteran signal-caller relieved an injured Cook once again, going 6-for-12 with 42 yards and three interceptions. Pyne started his career with Notre Dame, where he played three seasons with the Fighting Irish. In 2022, Pyne appeared in 11 games and passed for 2,021 yards, 22 touchdowns and six interceptions, leading Notre Dame to a 9-4 record.

He transferred to Arizona State in 2023, appearing in just two games. The Tigers' backup signal-caller will make his first career start in a Missouri uniform this weekend in front of a sold-out crowd when the Tigers and the Sooners rekindle an old rivalry at 6:45 p.m.
