Charleston is no stranger to a high-profile celeb sighting, and a local entertainment venue that seems to attract regular stars is the Terrace Theater. This time actress Mischa Barton, star of early 2000s teen drama "The O.C.

," was seen at the locally owned movie theater. Barton took in a showing of "Mickey 17" on March 9 at the Terrace Theater on James Island, and lucky employee Lindsay Soren was quick enough to pose for a photo with the acclaimed actress. The Terrace Theater on James Island has been showing movies for almost 30 years.

"Mischa and her friend were both very lovely and eager to discuss the movie they had just seen, 'Mickey 17,'" Soren said of the chance encounter. “It quickly went from me expressing my excitement that she was there to talking film, which was really cool," she added. "It was honestly because of their positive review that I came (back) to catch 'Mickey 17' myself.

" The new science fiction film is from Oscar-winning director Bong Joon Ho and follows expendable employee Mickey as he is sent on an interplanetary mission. Although the expedition is deadly, each time he dies he receives a new body with his memories imprinted. Barton was catapulted to fame in the early 2000s for her role on "The O.

C." as heartthrob Marissa Cooper who falls for the troubled Ryan Atwood, a newcomer to Newport Beach in SoCal. She received two Teen Choice Awards for her role, and Entertainment Weekly named her "It Girl" of 2003.

While we don't know what brought her to Charleston this time around, she has visited the Holy City in the past. She reunited with her "O.C.

" onscreen parents at a fan convention in Mount Pleasant in 2022. In October last year, Danny McBride and John Goodman of "The Righteous Gemstones" spent an evening at Terrace to watch the first episode of the HBO series' fourth and final season that is streaming now on all platforms. They were joined by fellow cast members including Adam Devine, Edi Patterson, Tony Cavalero and Walton Goggins.

Andie MacDowell was also there last summer to watch her daughter Margaret Qualley on the big screen in "Kinds of Kindness.".
