Mira Costa boys basketball wraps first week of season with tournament championship

Eneasi Piuleini scored 23 points to lead Mira Costa boys basketball to a 74-55 win over Tesoro in the Ocean View Tournament final Saturday. Piuleini earned MVP honors. Luke Hammerschmidt and Jacob De Armas earned all-tournament honors.

In Friday’s semifinal, Piuleini scored 21 points, with Paxx Bell (18 points) and De Armas adding 18 and 15, respectively. West Torrance 50, Palisades 46: Jacob Reyes led the Warriors with 13 points and Ben Heinemann and Josh Tsai added 12 and 11, respectively in the win. West finishes the with three consecutive wins.



Wiseburn Da Vinci 63, Crossroads 53: The Wolves finished third at the St. Monica Tournament, led by Ahmose Daniels, who had 17 points and nine rebounds. Caleb Ortiz finished with 10 points and five assists.

Jameson Johnson had nine points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals, earning all-tournament honors. Canaan Rodriguez chipped in nine points..
