Minor fire reported at Longview manufacturing facility

A minor fire occurred Friday at Kito Crosby’s Longview manufacturing facility, a company official said in an email. No injuries were reported in the blaze at the facility at 2414 Crosby Way. Damage was minimal, according to Melissa Ruths, the company’s chief marketing officer.

“We greatly appreciate the immediate response of our trained team members as well as the Longview Fire Department,” Mike Gill, the facility’s general manager, said in a statement. “Due to their quick actions, the fire was well contained and we resumed operations within eight hours.” Kito Crosby manufactures hoist, crane and material handling equipment, including chains, slings and other components.
