The Minnesota Timberwolves pulled off one of the most thrilling wins in the 2024-25 NBA season when they escaped Mile High City Tuesday night with a 140-139 double-overtime win. Julius Randle delivered the goods for his team against the Nuggets, as he scored 26 points on 11-for-22 shooting from the floor with four 3-pointers while adding nine rebounds, seven assists and a steal in 50 minutes of action. But even his solid stat line pales in comparison to the body of work that Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic put together in the same game.

The three-time NBA Most Valuable Player erupted for a career-best 61 points to go with 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Jokic also had two steals and six 3-pointers. Minnesota Timberwolves’ Randle can’t believe Jokic’s incredible evening It was a rough night for anyone who tried to slow down Jokic, who shot 18-for-29 from the floor.

When he wasn’t making buckets from the field, Jokic was making points from the foul line, where he went 19-for-24, as Minnesota simply had no answer to the Serbian. Randle was simply in awe of Jokic’s on-court exploits, as the former Kentucky Wildcats star gushed and nearly ran out of words to describe the Nuggets center’s brilliance. Via Dane Moore of Blue Wire : Asked Julius Randle about Nikola Jokic, and he just raved about him.

.. “I told him, he’s incredible.

That dude is absolutely ridiculous...

That [expletive] was unbelievable...

He’s doin all type of crazy [expletive] out there. I don’t even know how to explain it.” However, Ra ndle and the Timberwolves got the last laugh , as they completed a four-game sweep of the Nuggets in the regular season.

They also increased their chances of making it to the top six in the Western Conference standings, thanks to their win and in part, to the Memphis Grizzlies’ losing skid. The Grizzlies, who are sixth in the West, and the Timberwolves now have identical 44-32 record. Minnesota, which is on a three-game win streak, will look to sustain its form when it plays the second leg of its final road trip in the regular season this coming Friday versus the Brooklyn Nets.
