Mikey Madison is an Oscar winner! The 25-year-old actress won the award for Best Actress at the 2025 Academy Awards on Sunday (March 2) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Mikey won for her performance in the movie Anora , defeating The Substance ‘s Demi Moore , Wicked ‘s Cynthia Erivo , Emilia Perez ‘s Karla Sofia Gascon , and I’m Still Here ‘s Fernanda Torres . Heading into the show, most experts were predicting Demi to win, so many, including Mikey herself, were shocked to see her win.
It was a well-deserved win though! “This is very surreal,” Mikey said. “I grew up in Los Angeles, but Hollywood always felt so far away from me, so to be here, standing in this room today is really incredible.” She added, “I just want to recognize and honor the sex worker community.
