Back in June boxing legend Mike Tyson suffered a medical emergency that forced his fight against Jake Paul to be delayed by several months. But after losing his fight against Paul last night, Tyson revealed the extent of his emergency. Taking to X on Saturday, Tyson said that he has no regrets about getting back in the ring for one more fight - win or lose.

But then he revealed that back in June he nearly died after an unspecified condition caused him to lose a significant amount of blood along with 25 pounds, which required eight blood transfusions. Nevertheless, he was happy that his children got to see him box one more time and is grateful for the chance to do so. "This is one of those situations when you lost but still won.

I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time. I almost died in June.

Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won. To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for.

Thank you," Tyson wrote. This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful for last night.

It was an honor. You’re an inspiration to us all," he replied. Brett Carlsen/Getty Images Many fans expressed anger that the Texas State Athletic Commission would allow the fight to go on after this medical issue: "I am happy that nothing terrible happened last night.

But in NO WAY should this thing have been sanctioned. Texas Athletic Commission played a dangerous game," another wrote. "Should have never sanctioned a 58 year old who almost died a few months before the fight," wrote a third.

We may never see Tyson in the ring again, though after what we saw last night, that's probably for the best. Should this fight have been allowed to go on? Related: Legendary Boxer Mike Tyson Says He's Going To Die 'Really Soon'.
