Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel discussed Tyreek Hill's police detainment ahead of Sunday's game. On Sunday morning, police pulled over Hill outside Hard Rock Stadium for a traffic violation and handcuffed him on the ground. Officers released Hill without arresting the star wide receiver, who later scored an 80-yard touchdown in a 20-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Before the game, an unnerved McDaniel got emotional while addressing the incident. "The thing that ***** me up honestly, to be quite frank, is knowing that I don't know exactly what that feels like," McDaniel said, via WPLG . McDaniel stressed the importance of waiting for more information but remained rattled by what teammates shared about the situation.

"Regardless, I know the feelings expressed to me are unsettling." McDaniel added that he's "super proud" of Hill's teammates supporting him and Dolphins players "understanding the civic responsibility of a platform." "I am really just happy with the way our team came together when teammates were in need," McDaniel said.

.. I still don't know what happened," Hill said .

"But I do want to use this platform to say, 'What if I wasn't Tyreek Hill?'" A statement from the South Florida Police Benevolent Association claimed Hill was initially "uncooperative" with the police and was "redirected to the ground" when he refused to sit. They issued him two traffic citations. An attorney on Hill's behalf said they are "exploring all legal remedies" for what they believe to have been "excessive" actions by the on-scene officers.
