A primary school is celebrating the news that it has once again received the highest possible rating by Ofsted. Ofsted found that Middlethorpe Primary Academy in Cleethorpes had taken effective action to maintain its "outstanding" rating in a report published yesterday (April 9). The school was praised for several strengths, including an "ambitious and interesting curriculum".
In its report, Ofsted said: “Pupils enjoy attending this welcoming, friendly school. They form strong, positive relationships with both staff and peers. Pupils enjoy the learning opportunities that the school and are keen to share what they know.
They are confident to express themselves articulately." "Children in Early Years make a strong start to school," it added. "By the time they leave Reception, children have developed positive learning behaviours and independence.
” Ofsted commented on how pupils received a good education and outcomes in national assessments are "strong". It said: "Teachers teach lessons that support pupils' learning effectively. Pupils respond positively to this.
They enjoy well-structured class discussions about what they are learning." It said the children were knowledgeable about fundamental British values and protected characteristics, which "helps inform pupils’ actions and behaviours" and "contributes to the school’s inclusive ethos".
Executive Principal, Annabel Atkin, and Head of School, Steve Claybourn, said: "We are incredibly proud to share the outcomes of our latest Ofsted inspection, carried out on 11th and 12th of March 2025. "Our school has once again been recognised for maintaining exceptionally high standards. The report particularly highlights how much our children genuinely love attending school, describing it as ‘welcoming’, ‘friendly’ and ‘inclusive’.
"It was noted that our pupils behave very well and routinely meet the school’s high expectations. We were particularly pleased to see our staff recognised for being ambitious for what pupils can achieve and how they strive to bring this about. "The report praised the effective support that helps our pupils reach their potential.
This wonderful feedback is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and passion demonstrated by our entire school community, including staff, parents, carers, and, most importantly, our amazing children.
