Coburn made a flying start to life with the Lions, getting off the mark in his debut in the 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday just 24 hours after joining the club on loan. But after the high of that impressive debut, Coburn was forced off in the first half of the weekend defeat to Luton and Millwall boss Neil Harris has now confirmed the bad news. “Josh Coburn is going to be out for six to eight weeks,” Harris told the South London Press.
“That’s the bad news. We’re going to see how it settles in the next 14 days." RECOMMENDED READING: It's a major setback for Coburn but also for Harris, who spent the summer pursuing the Boro striker and was delighted to finally land the 21-year-old in the final hours of the window.
Coburn is now set for another frustrating lay-off on the back of a lengthy spell on the sidelines last season. The striker looked to be establishing himself as Michael Carrick's first choice striker at the end of last year but was then sidelined by a problematic injury which restricted him to just seven appearances and one start from December onwards. Coburn's injury is likely to present an opportunity for Teessider Macauley Langstaff, who joined the Lions from Notts County in the summer.
