Mickey Rourke has managed to survive the first eviction despite calls for him to be axed by Celebrity Big Brother fans

Mickey Rourke narrowly escaped being the first to be shown the door in Celebrity Big Brother, despite fans clamouring for his removal. Facing off against Coronation Street 's Jack P. Shepherd and Conservative MP Michael Fabricant in Friday's (April 11) public vote, it was instead political figure Michael who was ousted as the initial cast-off of the series by hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best, after receiving minimal viewer support.

Amidst its opening week, CBB has attracted 89 complaints to Ofcom, predominantly due to Mickey's antics, per the regulator's statement. On the inaugural night (April 7), the Sin City actor sparked controversy from his first moments onstage, stunning audiences with his behaviour. Upon their introduction, he spun host AJ around and pressed her body to his, leaving her visibly taken aback as she tried to converse; yet Mickey persisted with unnerving stares, prompting a flustered AJ to plea, "stop looking at me.

" This unsettling scene didn't evade notice—a wave of irate viewers immediately demanded intervention via social media, urging showrunners to ax him for his conduct, reports OK!. However, Mickey's friend Kimberly Hines has since come forward to say he was "blown away by her beauty". She told The Sun: ""Mickey's always loved beautiful women - that has been his downfall his entire life and he was the first to admit it.

"Beautiful women are his downfall. So he just behaves like a little boy. He just can't help himself.

" Earlier this week, Mickey faced a formal warning and significant backlash for homophobic remarks directed at housemate JoJo Siwa. One fan took to X, previously known as Twitter, to write: "Are you guys broke @ITVX @bbuk cos channel 4 used to kick people out for less than this." Another chimed in with: ""RUN TO OFCOM GUYS.

SERIOUSLY Get this guy out." Celebrity Big Brother airs Sunday to Thursday on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player at 9pm.
