Former Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic is back on the market having resigned from his current post.

Former Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic left Sudanese club Al Merrikh SC after three months. According to Kickoff , the Serbian coach left because he had not received payment. The 55-year-old has had two stints with the Buccaneers and could very well return to the ship.

Orlando Pirates announced last month that Jose Riveiro was leaving the club however, no replacement was named, meaning Micho could be one of the coaches the Buccaneers can consider. Other strong candidates include Pitso Mosimane and Gavin Hunt. Speaking to Soccer Laduma last month, Micho declared his love for Orlando Pirates.

“I highly value and sincerely appreciate your approach towards me,” he said. “I was on two different occasions a loyal servant of the badge as head coach of Orlando Pirates. With the club’s motto, Once and Always , I have remained a loyal supporter of the club despite being physically away.

Micho could be eyeing the Orlando Pirates job When asked about Riveiro’s departure and whether he would return to coach Orlando Pirates, Micho said the attention should be on the club winning the remaining trophies this season. “Instead of bending attention away from the football field, I want them to put total focus and concentration on ongoing competitions. What will happen after is beyond me and I would not comment, but I will remain wherever I am and whatever I do, a proud member of the Sea Robbers family,” said the ex-Bucs coach.

Micho’s return to Orlando Pirates is unlikely, given that he left South Africa with a dark cloud hanging over his head. Who is likely to replace Jose Riveiro?
