Local deaths Michael Channing "Mike" Nelsen, 64, of Grand Island, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024. at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Celebration of Life service will be at 3 p.
m. Saturday, September 21, 2024. at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island with Dan Naranjo officiating.
The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website. Visitation will begin an hour prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.

Mike was born on October 7, 1959, to Arnold and Beverly (Larsen) Nelsen in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In his youth he lived in Creighton, Nebraska, and Audubon, Iowa. He attended Audubon High School and later received his GED.
After high school, he moved to Doniphan, Nebraska. Mike was united in marriage to Jolyne Schuyler on October 30, 1981. To this union two children were born.
Mike worked in various painting, construction and industrial lines of work. He worked for Monfort, Central Nebraska Humane Society, Overhead Door and Kriz-Davis and, for the last 15 years at Optimas Solutions. He attended Peace Lutheran Church and served as an usher.
Mike had many interests and hobbies over the years including riding motorcycles, classic cars, listening to rock music and watching football. He was especially grateful for the time he got to spend with his family and especially his grandkids. Family members who welcomed him home include his mother, Beverly (Larsen) Fancher; his father, Arnold Nelsen; his older sisters, Jeri Nelsen and Julie Colebank; and a little brother, Chad Nelsen.
He will be forever remembered and loved by son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Hope Nelsen and their children, Aidan "Eli, Annabelle, Ella Mae and Deacon; his daughter, Katrina Nelsen and Nick Schweitzer and their daughter, Skylar; his sisters, Ranae (Don) Schlater of Exira, Iowa, Lisa (John) Alexander of Audubon, Iowa, and Karla Nelsen of Westminster, Colorado; his stepfather, Bill Fancher of Audubon, Iowa; his stepmother, Karen (Liston Brewer) Nelsen of Sioux City, Iowa; and numerous and much loved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many great friends and co-workers.
