Michael Madsen has filed for divorce from his wife of 28 years DeAnna. Court papers state that the star, who has featured in several Quentin Tarantino films cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split, Page Six reports. It comes after the Kill Bill actor he was arrested last month on a domestic battery charge by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The LA County District Attorney later announced it would not be moving forward with the case due to insufficient evidence. Michael, who claims DeAnna broke into his residence before his arrest, is also seeking a domestic violence restraining order against her. DeAnna later refuted his claims, telling the Los Angeles Times that they still shared their home and were not separated and “Michael is struggling with his own personal issues".

She added in a statement published by the Hollywood Reporter: “Myself and our children have been supporting him to the best of our ability. We would request privacy at this time.” Michael’s attorney, Perry Wander, told the LA Times that the Reservoir Dogs star has wanted to file for divorce for a while but had “been delaying it” until their son Luke turned 18 last October.

The former couple share 27-year-old son Calvin along with Luke and Hudson and has two sons Christian, 34, and Max, 30, with his ex-wife Jeannine Bisignano. Hudson, a US Army sergeant, killed himself while living in Hawaii with his wife, Carlie Madsen. After his death Michael said in a statement: “I am in shock as my son, whom I just spoke with a few days ago, said he was happy — my last text from him was ‘I love you dad'.

“I didn’t see any signs of depression. It’s so tragic and sad. I’m just trying to make sense of everything and understand what happened.
