Michael Jackson’s ex-wife, Debbie Rowe, was seen running errands in California this week, marking a rare public appearance as she keeps a low profile after cancer battle.

Debbie Rowe, 66, made a rare appearance in Palmdale, California , on Monday, nearly a decade after surviving breast cancer. The former wife of Michael Jackson was spotted running errands, including cashing a check, before driving off in her $200,000 custom-built, supercharged Range Rover Vogue. Rowe, who shares children Paris, 27, and Prince, 28, with the late pop star, looked almost unrecognizable in a blue button-up shirt, light jeans, and white sneakers.

She wore her blonde hair down with bangs and a soft curl, and kept her eyes hidden behind dark sunglasses. The outing comes shortly after the release of Leaving Neverland 2: Surviving Michael Jackson , the sequel to the 2019 documentary examining sexual abuse allegations against the late singer. Rowe, a former nurse, was married to Jackson from 1996 to 1999 after a private ceremony in Sydney, Australia.

She later gave full custody of their children to Jackson. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016, Rowe completed her final chemotherapy treatment in 2017. At the time, Paris celebrated the milestone publicly.

In 2021, Paris spoke about her mother on Red Table Talk, describing their bond as relaxed. “It’s just cool having her as a friend,” Paris said. “It’s very chill – which I love – it’s the perfect word to describe it.

” Paris explained they became close when she was 15, and found they share musical tastes. “It’s cool. I mean like, getting to know her, seeing how similar we are, getting into what kind of music she likes, and she really likes country and folk,” she said.

“I send her some of the stuff that I’m working on that has banjos in them.” In 2022, Rowe broke down in a documentary about Jackson’s death, expressing regret over her inaction during his addiction. “I should have done something and I didn’t,” she said during TMZ Investigates: Who Really Killed Michael Jackson.

“There is a number of people that died from addictions and in some way I was part of it,” she added. Rowe previously worked for Dr. Arnold Klein, the Beverly Hills dermatologist who treated Jackson and provided him with painkillers and cosmetic injections.

“I was basically as bad as him and I am so sorry I participated in it,” she said. Following Jackson’s death in 2009 from a drug-induced cardiac arrest, his physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter.

However, Rowe’s comments suggest she believes more people shared responsibility. Jackson’s legacy continues to be revisited with the new documentary renewing interest in allegations that have followed him since the 1990s, despite his 2005 acquittal.
