Mumbai Indians (MI) will look to clinch their first win in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 when they take on defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their own den. Hardik Pandya-led MI has lost both matches so far, against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT). In both matches, Mumbai’s batting proved to be their weakness despite the presence of stalwarts like Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav.

They only posted 155/9 against CSK in Chennai before losing by four wickets, while against GT, MI were restricted to 160/6 in a chase of 197 runs. The form of Rohit is a major concern as the opener has only scored eight runs in two matches so far. MI, however, have more batters and they will hope runs start flowing from Ryan Rickelton, Will Jacks, Suryakumar, Tilak Varma, Hardik and Naman Dhir’s bat as well.

KKR, on the other hand, has also played two matches, losing at home to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RC) in the opener and beating Rajasthan Royals (RR) by eight wickets.
