Metro rail runs on Friday for first time, Kazipara station reopens

Metro rail ran for the first time in the city on Friday bringing joy and satisfaction to the faces of hundred of commuters.For the first time commuters of the capital enjoyed their holiday riding on the metro rail as authorities successfully launched its operation from Uttara to Motijheel on Friday afternoon.Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Abdur Rouf said metro rail left Uttara North station at 3:30pm for Motijheel station.From now, every Friday, metro rail will be operated from Uttara North to Motijheel from 3:30pm to 9:00pm and from Motijheel to Uttara North from 3:50pm to 9:40pm,

From now, every Friday, metro rail will be operated from Uttara North to Motijheel from 3:30pm to 9:00pm and from Motijheel to Uttara North from 3:50pm to 9:40pm, he said. Besides, the metro rail services resumed from Kazipara station as the DMTCL completed its repair works of the station which was partially damaged during anti-discrimination students' movement in July. Kazipara station repair works were completed quickly for operation taking demands of the commuters into consideration despite some equipment are still needed to complete repair work at the station.
