Ceremonies Recommended Videos Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly will hold its 20th annual Veterans Day ceremony on Monday. The veteran cemetery, located at 4200 Belford Road, will begin the ceremony at 11 a.m.

Clinton Township A Veterans Day ceremony will be held on Nov. 11 beginning at 11 a.m.

at the Resurrection Cemetery, located at 18201 Clinton River Road. Sterling Heights The City of Sterling Heights will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony and unveil its new Gulf War memorial. The ceremony will take place on Nov.

11 at 11 a.m. in the courtyard between Sterling Heights City Hall and the police department.

Detroit-Wayne Joint Building Authority The Detroit-Wayne Building Authority will hold a brief Veterans Day ceremony at 8 a.m. on Nov.

11 at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center Veterans Memorial Plaza, located at 2 Woodward Avenue. Flags will be raised promptly as Reveille plays at 8 a.

m. The ceremony concludes at 8:30 a.m.

Troy The City of Troy will hosts its annual Veterans Day ceremony at Troy Veterans Plaza in from to city hall, located at 500 W Big Beaver Road, on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.

The program will include Raising of Colors, Rifle Salute and Taps by the Troy Police Honor Guard. Detroit A Veterans Day ceremony will be held on Nov. 11 at 10 a.

m. at Elmwood Cemetery, located at 1200 Elmwood Street. The program includes a flyover by the Tuskegee Airmen Flying TG-7A, a flag-raising by Junior ROTC cadets from the Detroit Public Schools Community District and a performance by the Martin Luther King, Jr.

Senior High School marching band. Washtenaw Community College The public is invited to gather to the sunrise flag raising at around 7 a.m.

11 at 9:15 a.m. inside the Student Center on the second floor place near Wadhams Veterans Center.

Plymouth There will be a Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.

at the Plymouth Veterans Memorial Park on Main Street in Plymouth across city hall. The ceremony will be hosting by Passage-Gayde Plymouth American Legion Post #391, Commander John Lockwood, Mayflower Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6695, Commander Ron King and Vietnam Veterans of America Post #528, President Bob Dew and their committee. Luncheons Detroit Volunteers of American Michigan will host a luncheon for veterans to thank them for their service and sacrifice at the Detroit Veterans Housing Program beginning at 10 a.

Before the luncheon, there will be a pop-up shop for free clothing and shoes and booths with veteran resources. Lunch will be provided by The Whitney. Farmington Hills The City of Farmington Hills Special Services Adults 50 & Better Division will host its 28th Veterans Day luncheon and ceremony to honor local veterans on Nov.

11 at 11 a.m. at the Costick Activities Center, located at 28600 W Eleven Mile Road.

Veterans Day deals Kroger discount Kroger is giving a 10% discount to veterans and active-duty military members on Monday, Nov. 11. Veterans can get the discount on a total purchase by showing a valid military ID.

The discount excludes alcohol, tobacco products, fuel, money orders, taxes, postage stamps, gift cards, lottery, promotional tickets, CRV, prescriptions and guest or customer service fees. Eligible veterans must use a rewards card or shopper’s card to get the discount. Bob Evans Bob Evans is offering a free meal from a menu of 10 items for all veterans and active-duty military members on Nov.

11. White Castle White Castle is offering a free meal to veterans and active-duty military members on Nov. 11.

There will be a special Slider box that will be given out on Veterans Day. McDonald’s Veterans and active-duty military members can get a free combo meal on Veterans Day with a valid military ID on Nov. 11.

Veterans can have an Egg McMuffin or Bacon Egg Cheese Biscuit, along with a hash brown and any size soft drink, tea or coffee. The free meals are only available via dine-in or drive-thru. The Pie Collective by Achatz/Achatz Handmade Pie Co.

Veterans can have a free slice of apple, pecan, pumpkin or Michigan 4-berry pie at any of the nine locations across Metro Detroit on Nov. 11. Big Boy Veterans can get a free breakfast buffet at Big Boy on Nov.

11 until 1 p.m. Buddy’s Pizza Veterans and active-duty military members can get a 15% off all dine-in visit at Buddy’s Pizza.

This is an offer that’s given year-round, not just on Veterans Day. Veterans must bring in a valid military ID or VA card. Hamlin Pub Veterans can get a 20% off discount on their meal at all nine Hamlin Pub locations in Michigan.

Ford’s Garage Veterans can get a choice of one free American Standard Burger or one entrée up to $15 at Ford’s Garage on Nov. 11. The offer is only valid for dine-in at participating locations with proof of service.
