Canadian band Metric has announced on social media that it is backing out of an upcoming tour with English band Bloc Party. In a post on Facebook, Metric says that Bloc Party’s team “made some sudden production decisions” that the post claims broke an agreement.
The post from Metric says the decisions left the band unable to continue, despite their best efforts to find solutions. It says refunds are being offered. Efforts to reach Metric for details of the production decisions that prompted the move, as well as efforts to reach Bloc Party for a response, have not been successful.
Metric says in the Facebook post that its headlining hometown show at Budweiser Stage in Toronto on June 6 is still happening, and will feature the Sam Roberts Band in place of Bloc Party. This report by The Canadian Press was first published April 12, 2025. Advertisement.
