Metal in your meat? Chomps recalls nearly 30,000 pounds of beef sticks

Chomps beef stick fans, review your snack supply. Nearly 30,000 pounds of the brand’s ready-to-eat snacks are part of a recall after consumers found metal pieces in the product. Idaho Smokehouse Partners prompted the recall of roughly 29,541 pounds of the “Chomps Original Beef Stick Mild” item after there were two consumer complaints of metal pieces discovered in the product, according to the U.

S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The product subject to recall was produced between Jan.



13 and Jan. 15, 2025. The items in the recall were sent to retailers in California and Illinois.

As of yet, no injuries have been reported, but FSIS expressed concern that some products could currently be in consumers’ pantries. Idaho Smokehouse Partners issued a statement regarding the recall in a statement to . “Once Idaho Smokehouse Partners became aware of the two complaints, out of an abundance of caution, we worked with regulatory authorities on the best way to protect consumers from this issue,” it reads.

“We are taking this action because we are committed to the highest food safety standards for the consumers of our products.” Chomps did not immediately respond to TODAY.com’s request.
