Brits woke up to cold temperatures this morning and with icy weather set to continue, the Met Office has issued a fresh wave of yellow weather warnings. Much of the UK saw snow fall yesterday, causing travel disruption and leading to nearly 200 school closures. Across the UK, Brits should beware of rain, sleet and snow which will continue to clear southwards across England and Wales with clearing skies to follow.
Temperatures are expected to fall below or close to freezing quite widely across the warning area with icy patches forming. The Met Office has warned those in affected areas to be aware of longer journey times and to be cautious of untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths. Currently 14 UK regions have been slapped with a yellow weather warning for ice, including most of Scotland, the entirety of Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as part of the north of England and the West Midlands.
