The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for wind affecting Northern Ireland and large areas of western Scotland running from 12am Friday to 12pm Saturday. . The Met Office said: "Some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs, could happen.

"Injuries and danger to life could occur from flying debris, as well as large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties "Road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected, with longer journey times and cancellations possible. Some roads and bridges may close.
