Mercedes-Benz India today announced the launch of Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 luxury EV SUV in the Indian market. The three-row EV SUV will be produced locally at a brand manufacturing facility in Pune and is priced at Rs 1.41 crores (ex-showroom, introductory).
The company is also offering 10 10-year battery warranty and the service interval for the EV is once every two years or 30,000 km, customers can also opt for a service package which starts at Rs 85,000. The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is the sixth EV in Mercedes-Benz India's portfolio and is positioned between the EQE SUV and the Maybach EQS SUV which was launched a few days ago. In terms of design, the EV SUV gets a blanked-off black panel grille that extends into the lower section of the front bumper.
It also gets connected LED headlamps that run across the car's width. At the rear, it gets full-width LED tail lamps and the rear profile looks very similar to the Maybach EQS with minor changes. 3-inch instrument cluster, a 17.7-inch touchscreen infotainment and it also gets a 12.3-inch front passenger screen.
Other features include dual 11.6-inch rear entertainment screens, soft-close doors, puddle lamps, illuminated running boards, a 15-speaker Burmester sound system, five-zone climate control, Level 2 ADAS, 9 Airbags and much more. The EQS SUV will be available in a single fully loaded 580 4Matic variant and with a standard 7-seat configuration.
It gets a 122kWh battery pack paired with dual electric motors which puts out a combined 544hp of power and 858Nm of peak torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via the 4Matic AWD system and the company claimed the EV SUV can sprint from 0-100kph in 4.7 seconds.
The EV has an ARAI-certified range of 809km on a single charge and the battery supports up to 200kW DC fast charging..
