Mentally disabled man kills elderly with an axe

Prayagraj: A mentally disabled man allegedly axed an elderly man to death in Nizampur Nadia village under the limits of Manjhanpur police station in Kaushambi district on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Budhai (70), a resident of Paschami Kodar village. Police said that the victim had gone to a neighbouring village of Nizampur Nadia to seek ayurvedic treatment where he was allegedly attacked by a mentally disabled man, identified as Hemlal, with an axe.

He was critically injured in the attack. Upon being alerted, the police brought the injured elderly man to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. An FIR under appropriate sections was registered in this connection.
