Washington County, Va. — The Mendota Trail is once again fully open, following the successful removal of approximately 30 fallen trees that had temporarily closed the section between Reedy Creek Road and the Benhams parking lot. The area had been deemed unsafe for public use due to extensive tree fall, but thanks to the prompt response from maintenance teams, the trail is now clear and ready for all users.

The Mendota Trail, spanning from the Bristol, VA Trailhead to the Mendota Trailhead, provides outdoor enthusiasts with a scenic, well-maintained route. The full reopening restores uninterrupted access for hikers, bikers, and nature lovers to enjoy the entire length of this beautiful trail. “We’re thrilled to welcome everyone back to experience the full trail," said Kevin Hill, Director of General Services.

"The community’s patience and support are greatly appreciated as we worked to ensure safe access for all visitors.".
