Trainor expressed disappointment over the media's focus on her weight loss overshadowing her musical accomplishments, emphasizing her commitment to health for herself and her family.

The Grammy-winning singer Meghan Trainor, who is known for songs like ‘All About That Bass,’ recently talked about her experience taking the weight-loss drug Mounjaro. The 31-year-old artist disclosed that she started taking the medication as part of a larger attempt to get healthier, as did her husband, actor Daryl Sabara. Trainor publicly stated that she feels "no shame" about their choice.

Why they chose Mounjaro In an episode of the ‘Workin’ On It’ podcast, Trainor explained that they were influenced by many people around them. “Daryl and I both do everything together,” she said, mentioning that friends and doctors had been using Mounjaro and Ozempic. They chose Mounjaro specifically because it reportedly had “less side effects.



” Staying active and healthy However, she was clear that the medication was not a quick fix. Regular workouts and healthy eating remained a key part of their routine. “We were like, ‘We have to make sure we don’t lose muscle that we worked so hard gaining all those years’,” she shared.

“We stay in the gym, we work out, we eat right, and we just noticed that we were less hungry,” she added. Meghan's disappointment with public reaction Following her appearance at the Billboard Women in Music event in March 2024, Trainor's weight loss received media attention. In another Instagram post, she responded to the attention being drawn to her appearance and expressed disappointment that her physical attributes overshadowed her musical achievements.

She wrote that she made the decision to become "the healthiest, strongest version" of herself "for my kids, for my husband, and for ME." Focusing on what matters Trainor detailed her approach, which included working with a dietician, exercising with a trainer, changing her lifestyle, and eventually turning to Mounjaro after her second pregnancy. “And I’m so glad I did because I feel great,” she added.

She ended her message by calling for a shift in how people talk about public figures: away from physical appearance and more towards “talent, growth, and putting ourselves first.” In terms of music, Meghan's sixth studio album, ‘Timeless,’ which included the single 'Been Like This' with T-Pain, was released in June 2024. The ‘Timeless Tour,’ which she began from September to October 2024 across the United States, was her follow-up release.
