Megan Thee Stallion was left with a phobia of playing live after she was shot in 2020. The 29-year-old performer was injured by rapper Tory Lanez, 32, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting her in the feet during an argument – but many of his fans branded Megan a liar and she has now also told how she suffered horrific trolling despite being the victim. Megan says in her new Prime Video documentary ‘Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words’ about the fallout from the violence: “Ever since being shot, I’ve had anxiety about performing.

I always think somebody’s going to do something to me. “So many guys online say, ‘You should have got shot in the head’, ‘He should’ve finished the job’, ‘He should have killed your ass’. “I can’t separate trolling from real life.

Am I safe to perform in front of thousands of people? I don’t know who’s in this crowd.” Megan added about her mental state before Lanez’s sentencing: “I had a real breakdown. I didn’t feel like my life had any kind of value.

I had to call 911 because I couldn’t breathe. I thought I was about to die. “It was like three days in bed.

I just cried every day. I never would have been a suicidal person..

. but I was feeling like that. I was like, ‘I’d rather not live through this than to have to live with this’.

” Megan also tells in her documentary how she “forgot” who she was after she took her mother off life support. The rapper lost her mum Holly Thomas to a brain tumour in March 2019 and after she was hospitalised said she felt compelled to “pull the plug” on her as she knew her mother would not have wanted to carry on being kept alive while being braindead. She said she was left in a “shambles” when her mother started having “back-to-back seizures” aged 47.

Megan – born Megan Jovon Ruth Pete – added: “They had to put her under. She was just braindead. “So I stayed up there every day.

I was spending the night at the hospital. I just was praying that she could shake back from it. “Once I realised she wasn’t coming back, I was just like, ‘Damn, I can’t keep her like this’.

“Because I know she wouldn’t have wanted to stay like this. So I had to make the decision to pull the plug, and she just passed the next day..

. when my mama passed away, I think I really forgot who I was and I lost a lot of confidence. “I was so used to my mama telling me what to do and when life started getting crazy I didn’t have her.
