She is none other than Raima Sen. Born in Mumbai, she was a great granddaughter of princess of Cooch Behar. Her mother Moon Moon Sen is a former actress who has worked in multiple film industries.



Her maternal grandmother Suchitra Sen is a legend in Bengali cinema. Raima’s sister Riya Sen is also an actress in Bollywood. She made her debut with Godmother, which was released in 1999.

Raima has acted in films like Parineeta, Daman, Honeymoon Travels Private Limited and Eklavya. She has also worked in web series like Love Birds, Hello and Mehmaan. Despite coming from a family of superstars, Raima revealed that her journey in Bollywood was never easy.

The actress shared that she always strived hard to pave her way into the industry. Speaking to E Times, Raima said, “During my grandmother’s time, the Hindi film industry made very interesting and progressive films. My grandmother has played strong roles in Aandhi, Devdas and films like Bambai Ka Babu.

Bengali cinema always offered me strong roles, so there was no paucity of good content.” Raima further said that she never got good quality of roles in Bollywood. “I’m glad that the Hindi film industry is changing, and apart from women, every character is playing an important role now.

Even supporting actors are playing meaty roles, and the digital medium is not just a hero-based platform. Having said that, I don’t think that people will stop going to the theatres. People enjoy watching films, and even Hindi films have interesting content.
