Many rose to fame and became a star throughout their life but one wrong decision can forever alter the trajectory of a career, no matter how illustrious. This actor, who shared the screen with A-listers and starred in blockbuster South Indian films, saw their journey take a dramatic turn due to a single misstep. The actor we are talking about is Mirza Abbas Ali.

He began his journey as a model in 1964 and later joined films. He made his film debut with Kathir's Kadhal Desam (1996), which became a great success and gave him instant recognition. Following his success, he was featured in several hit Telugu and Tamil films such as Priya O Priya, Rajahamsa, Raja, Kannezhuthi Pottum Thottu, Suyamvaram, and Padayappa.

Mirza Abbas Ali made a memorable cameo in the film Hey Ram, which featured an ensemble cast including Kamal Haasan and Shah Rukh Khan. His breakthrough role came with the highly successful film Kandukondain Kandukondain, where he starred alongside Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The movie boasted an impressive cast, including Mammootty, Ajith Kumar, and Tabu, cementing its place as one of the biggest hits of his career.

The actor made his Bollywood debut with the film Ansh and then featured in Aur Phir. However, both films failed at the box office. Ali tried to build his career in Bollywood and started rejecting several South projects.

After struggling to find opportunities in the Hindi film industry, he transitioned to working on South Indian films. However, many of these projects ultimately got shelved. He then found himself taking on cameo and supporting roles in Telugu movies, marking a new chapter in his career.

The actor's career declined when his films consistently underperformed at the box office. Financial struggles followed, leaving him bankrupt and unable to afford even basic necessities like rent. In 2015, he made the difficult decision to leave the industry and relocate to New Zealand.

There, he faced significant challenges, struggling to survive and adapting to a new life abroad. Mirza Abbas Ali said, “To provide for my family, I worked as a bike mechanic, cleaned toilets, and drove taxis in New Zealand.” As of now, Abbas is working as a motivational speaker and has not signed any new project.
