Medina High School gears up for homecoming weekend

The community and Medina High School are getting prepared for three days of homecoming festivities next month.

MEDINA, Ohio – The community and Medina High School are getting prepared for three days of homecoming festivities next month. Amy Busby, director of community relations for Medina City Schools, said the community fun will commence Thursday, Oct. 10 with the homecoming parade.

“We will start in the back parking lot of Garfield and then travel to the square and then to Union Street and on to the High School,” Busby said. “It is going to be a great night of community and school spirit so be sure to wear your green and white.” Following the parade will be the Powder Puff football game where junior girls will compete against senior girls on the football field.

17, 2024, 12:36 a.m. “It will be $5 to enter the game and proceeds from the game will benefit the high school’s link crew which is a group that primarily mentors our freshmen,” Busby said.

“This will be the second year that the high school has done this Powder Puff game and last year it was very well received by the community. It is truly a community event. People can either purchase tickets through Hometown Ticketing starting after Sept.

25 or they can pay $5 at the gate.” Then, Friday evening, the Medina Bees will play against Cleveland Heights. “That will be a great night for football,” Busby said.

“Then Saturday evening is the dance for our high school students.”.
